Deputy Director Chagrin Valley Dispatch Bedford, Ohio
Join Director Nick DiCicco and Deputy Director Lisa Rapitis of the Chagrin Valley Dispatch Center just outside of Cleveland, Ohio as they take attendees through the night of their agency's first line of duty death through present day from a Director’s perspective. This presentation will provide an overview of the shift that was working that night, the incident in general, the after-action steps immediately following the incident, and the continued steps in getting closer to being “back to normal” – if that is even possible.
Learning Objectives:
At the completion of this session, participants will have the tools necessary to make additions and/or modifications to their existing policies and procedures for line of duty deaths to ensure that telecommunicators are not forgotten about.
Participants will be able to develop practical plans for supporting their team's emotional health and maintaining operational effectiveness following a traumatic event.
Participants will learn about the resources available to support their team's long-term recovery and well-being following a traumatic incident.
