One of the most important, and frequently undervalued, positions in a 911 center is that of trainer. The trainer will have a disproportionate impact on the success of the trainee, which, in turn, will influence every aspect of the comm center. Likewise, the training that trainers undergo is often lacking or non-existent. This session addresses core elements required in effective training.
Learning Objectives:
At the culmination of this session, participants will be able to identify the most critical elements of training. Many of those elements will be ones they have never before considered.
Participants will understand the critical nature of having the right people act as trainers and be able to identify the characteristics and traits of an excellent trainer.
Participants will understand the direct connection between critical elements in training and high employee turnover rates (empty chairs) in 911 centers and steps to enhance retention.
