FEMA, Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS)
The Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS) is America’s system for local and national emergency alerting. Previously, IPAWS has focused on getting Alerting Authorities to use the system, but now, IPAWS is focusing on how they use the system. Many Alerting Authorities are unfamiliar or unsure how to utilize the full scope of tools, and capabilities IPAWS offers. Other Alerting Authorities want to become more comfortable utilizing IPAWS. This presentation will elevate attendees’ relationships with IPAWS by helping them understand how IPAWS can and should be utilized, highlighting new updates and key capabilities, and sharing additional IPAWS training offerings.
