First Responders should never be left guessing if their radio or cell phone is going to work at any given time. The convergence of PTT over cellular is here with eSIMs in the radio or PTT apps on a smartphone. The network "should just work", but in reality dead spots still exist. That even goes for the person that may need to dial 911 for help. In some areas those dead zones could be for tens or even hundreds of square miles. For life safety communications these are chilling thoughts for everyone. So now what? Are satellites the answer?
