Kathy Hogan, RPL, is an Emergency Telecommunications Supervisor with the Metropolitan Nashville Department of Emergency Communications (MNDEC), where she has served the public for over 19 years. She has been in this role for more than four years in the operations division. Previously, she served as a Communications Training Officer, a member of the Telecommunications Emergency Response Team (TERT), and a tactical dispatch team member. Kathy has been a member of the MNDEC Peer Support program since 2010 and holds the following certifications: RPL, TERT Leader, COML, and INCM. She is experienced in handling natural disasters, mass casualty incidents, pre-planned large-scale events, and civil unrest. Kathy is most at home managing the chaos that enters the communications center and calming it with minimal disruption to operations and the community. Before her roles in the emergency communications field, Kathy served in the U.S. Army. She later made her home in Nashville, TN, where she graduated from Lipscomb University with a bachelor's degree in social work. Kathy is an avid fan of Marvel, Harry Potter, and most things related to nerd culture. Additionally, she is a foodie and an accomplished baker. Kathy is also heavily involved in fundraising efforts to combat breast cancer.
