Swatting incidents are on the rise in the United States, Response to these incidents is costing first responders money, diverting them from where they are needed and in the worst cases costing the lives of the victims of these calls. While there may not be a way to completely eliminate these calls, there ate tools available that could greatly reduce their impact. STIR/SHAKEN are industry standards that can be used to validate the callers identity. This technology is widely in use today by service providers to reduce robocalls. This panel is made up of researchers, DHS leadership and industry.
