As the national clearinghouse & largest child advocacy organization in the U.S., the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children will share insights on child sexual exploitation. Current technological threats will be discussed, specifically financial sextortion, generative AI & violent online groups. 911 operators & first responders may see this type of victimization as a suicide attempt call & it is important to know online victimization may be driving this behavior. We will discuss helpful questions to uncover motivation behind a child’s self-harming behavior & provide practical tips to ensure those responding are addressing their well-being after the call ends.
