Lanae received a master’s degree in social work from Howard University in Washington, DC in 2003 and is a licensed clinical social worker in the District of Columbia. Lanae has worked for the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) since 2007. She is the director of case services, leading a team of mental health professionals who provide clinical and emotional support to families of missing and sexually exploited children. She also manages a network of NCMEC Consultants who offer their lived experience expertise to the organization which guides our approach to trauma-informed services for missing and exploited children. In addition to the programs designed to support the populations NCMEC serves, Lanae also provides wellness and resiliency support through the Safeguard Program for NCMEC staff exposed to child sexual abuse material during their daily work.
Lanae is a trainer and facilitator for numerous conferences, teaching the benefits of the Safeguard Program and addressing the therapeutic needs of missing and sexually exploited children and their families.
