Brett Loomis is a 35 year member of the American Fire Service. He has held the ranks of firefighter, driver, captain, battalion chief, and deputy fire chief. He has held assignments in operations, emergency management, planning, communications, training, public information, and administration. Brett was a public safety dispatcher for more than ten years in a combined law, fire, and EMS dispatch center in California serving 17 fire and EMS agencies and 11 law enforcement agencies. Chief Loomis is currently an operations battalion chief in Corvallis, Oregon.
Chief Loomis is the operations manager and a lead instructor for Firefighter Inspiration Readiness and Education, commonly known as Trainfirefighers.com. He has traveled the nation teaching incident command, tactics and strategy, leadership and team building, and unified command. He is currently developing curriculum focused on the integral role that public safety dispatchers play in the success of fire incident management.
Chief Loomis holds a bachelor's degree in fire administration and a master's degree in public administration. Brett enjoys playing golf, traveling, networking, and sharing his experiences with future generations of emergency responders.
