Operations Manager
DPS Houlton Regional Communications Center
Houlton, Maine
I began my career in emergency communications in 2011. Since that time, I have held the position of dispatcher, trainer, supervisor, training coordinator, and manager. I earned my masters degree in criminal justice from Florida State University, and hold a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Maine. I am passionate about the public safety industry, and am always looking to grow and learn. My mantra is "you can never know everything there is to know about anything". I became ENP certified and completed the NENA CMCP class in 2024- further committing myself to my passion - emergency communications. I am certified as an APCO CTO Instructor, APCO CTO, and APCO Supervisor, and participate in multiple APCO workgroups and committees.
My main goal is to help empower others to accomplish their goals, to take the leap to achieve their dreams, and to never take "no" as an answer. I hope to pass along my passion for the job and what I've learned thus far in my career - and I also hope to learn from those who attend my classes. I love to teach, in another life I would have been a kindergarten teacher (but until naps get reinstated in the classroom, I'll stick with public safety).
