Dispatch Supervisor
Ingham County 911
Lansing, Michigan
Danielle Harris ENP, CMCP is an accomplished Floor Supervisor at Ingham County 911, where she oversees emergency communications for the Lansing area, including the Michigan State University campus. With a deep passion for community outreach, Supervisor Harris found herself naturally stepping into the role of one of the center’s primary social media managers. This transition came about almost by accident but has since become an integral part of her professional journey.
Her passion for recruitment and community engagement began early in her career. As a new dispatcher, she frequently encountered people unaware that 911 was an actual job. This sparked her mission to educate the public and increase awareness about the vital role 911 centers play. Taking on leadership in outreach and social media efforts, Supervisor Harris has worked tirelessly to reshape public perception and highlight the importance of emergency services. Under her guidance, the 911 center's social media presence flourished, with content ranging from serious topics to more lighthearted posts, often capturing the attention of thousands. Her TikTok videos alone have garnered over 1 million views within their first year.
In 2021, Supervisor Harris earned her Emergency Number Professional (ENP) designation, further cementing her commitment to professional excellence. She continued her professional education by completing her Center Manager Certification Program (CMCP) in 2024. Her hard work and dedication were also recognized when she was honored with the APCO Michigan Supervisor of the Year Award for 2024.
Supervisor Harris continues to inspire both her colleagues and the community with her innovative approach to outreach and her unwavering dedication to the mission of Ingham County 911.
