Training Technician

My name is Miguel Alvarado! I've been in the industry since 2016, and at Jeffcom since 2019! I started as a Firefighter and then a Dispatcher at Washington-Yuma County Combined Communications in Colorado, and joined up with Jeffcom a few years after with the intent of dispatching for my home town of Arvada which is just West of Denver. Over my career I've dispatched for over 40 different law, fire and EMS agencies and have particularly enjoyed my time as both a CTO on the floor and as a Training Tech for our academy. I've also been able to participate in a few other groups like our various advisory planning teams such as Community Engagement, Training or on the Peer Support team.
I'm the recipient of many awards and nominations, such as CTO of the year, Top Performer of the quarter, several Team of the Year awards, and a habitual Ace Club member. I was a key part of integrating Clear Creek and Jefferson County into one single communication center on both the operational and training level, and I consider myself an important part of the development of community within our PSAP to shed some light on an industry that's typically on the heavy side.
Using my experience and mental health knowledge to untangle the problems that weigh on those in this industry, I am ambitious to be an active participant in the slow but needed systemic changes to improve the well-being of everyone in the center and beyond.
