With over 30 years in the Emergency Telecommunications, Lori Henricksen brings a unique blend of frontline experience and instructional leadership to the 9-1-1 profession. As the founder of BX3 Public Safety LLC and 9-1-1 Education Manager for GovWorx, she leads curriculum development and innovative training strategies that support telecommunicators at every level.
Lori is a regional IAED ETC instructor and holds certifications in EMD, EFD, and EPD. She is nationally recognized for her work in dispatcher education and is especially passionate about building the next generation of 9-1-1 professionals. Her commitment to that mission is reflected in her creation of the Emergency Telecommunications Program at Veterans Tribute Career & Technical Academy in Las Vegas—a first-of-its-kind high school program that serves as a national model. She also played a key role in developing the Nevada Department of Education’s standards and end-of-program assessments for Emergency Telecommunications and Law Enforcement pathways.
Lori’s public safety journey began at age 16, dispatching for both fire and law enforcement with the Las Vegas Interagency Communications Center. She went on to spend 14 years with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department as a Communications Specialist, CTO, and trainer. Her professional development includes certifications in Crisis Intervention (CIT), Active Assailant Response, Suicide Intervention Skills, and Youth Mental Health First Aid.
As the host of the Comms Coach Podcast and a sought-after national speaker, Lori shares real-world insights and empowers agencies to elevate their training and feedback systems. Recognized locally and nationally for her contributions to 9-1-1 education, she continues to lead efforts that combine operational excellence with meaningful professional growth.
